I’m currently driving an ‘18 champagne frost Accord , but in a year from now I’m going to get a vehicle that will take me through the end of my time in the Navy. The A ccord has always been a place holder and it is doing great. How ever it isn’t anything I want to keep.
I I’m going to finance the next car for 24 to 36 months so I’ll have a vehicle post employment while I job search. Overall budget is sub 30k. I think the Kia might hit everything on my wishlist while remaining in my budget. I’m keeping the Morgan so I’ll always have arguably the stupidest car on the road as well. Another option is to just lease because my timeline will sync within 3 months of my end date. Any opinions?
Oold Audi that my neighbor won’t sell me because I’ve never asked and behind that is my favorite vehicle in my town.
Eye wateringly perfect.

Funny story... I hit my head on the roof of the press Stinger when I gunned it to catch a light and borderline jumped it because the road I was crossing was elevated.

So AWD Mazda 6 then?

Hello, tis I; the annoying guy with the Kia. I was summoned by KingTChalla.
What do you want out of the stinger?

I drove one a while back and liked it. Great drivetrain . A bit numb, but everything else in that class is numb too.

Heck, I’d totally buy an AWD Mazda 6. Hopefully it comes out in 2020.
I test drove the 2.5 T Signature 6 FWD as well- fantastic midsize sedan!

What are you thinking of doing post Navy?

Oh boy that is a great question. My wife's job will dictate the move but most likely become a corporate human like the masses. I think my skillset will help me find a job, but I also bought a 3 wheeler so my wife is suspect of my judgement.

Thinking about staying in the same area or moving?

I’d say the PNW is in the running but so I'd D.C, Boulder, Boston and San Diego. A large requirement is either skiing or ocean. It needs to have one. Though if we leave here I'll miss the backcountry skiing and mountain biking, but I won't miss kiteboarding in a wet suit in the summer.

Yes, we all live to be corporate, professional hu mans. Is not that correct, fellow hu mans?

Man, Boulder is a nice town, though i’ve only visited a few times. San Diego is really nice as well, but California people taken as a whole are not necessarily my favorite, though better than many other parts of the country. Just a little too image conscious for me.
Personally, i think the Pacific Northwest is where its at, but judging from the Washington plates, you already know basically what its like here.
I spent the first 11 years of my life in Boston and visited a few times since, the nickname of “massholes” doesn’t just come from nowhere.......

GT AWD vs RWD...anyone drive both? I realize some trims have LSD as well, so that may make some difference as well. I dro ve the GT AWD, but haven’t driven the RWD in GT - GT2 so far.

Does it snow where you live? If it doesn’t, I’d get the RWD one
The AWD version is not as loved as the RWD one (I’m yet to drive the AWD, though). I heard they wanted to make the AWD version better with a more sophisticated setup (torque vectoring and shit) but I stopped following the car closely after getting mine.
I can confirm the ventilated seats are quite good. So’s the stereo and generally it’s a quiet cabin . It does have a lot of tire roar and wind noise in the highway at speeds above 85mph.
Also, leasing this car must be a nightmare, it might be nice but it’s still a Kia; depreciation isn’t working in your favor.
As for reliability; the turbos are boosted less than typical setups, and I’d argue that the engine is under stressed . It does have a strange VVT system but I doubt the 3.3TT is going to prove unreliable.
I run it at high altitude, at high load, and in very heavy traffic...the transmission has never misbehaved despite how much stress I put on it. Also the maintenance is hilariously cheap compared to similarly powerful cars, like a 540i.
It does feel like a large car though, given it’s as long as a Cayenne you’re going to find yourself struggling in parking meters.
On the other hand, the front seats are fantastic, the driving position is spot on, even for me at 6’2” I have good headroom. The back is another story; that sloping roofline cuts a lot of headroom, but the boot is cavernous; folding the rear seats down would let you get a full size bicycle in there.
its 1750 kg in RWD form, but the brakes are outstanding, and the staggered tire
setup does help balance the car.
In the end, seeing your other cars ... maybe you should consider getting a top of the line 2.0 model; the fuel savings are super nice, and unless your daily drive involves going up pikes peak you might not even notice that fancy Subaru-LSD working. Plus, the 18in tires are probably quieter.
